The story

Palumba engraved Leda twice, and this first version sets the lovers in a landscape. He signed his prints IB with a little bird, a pun on palumbo, Italian for pigeon, and his name was only confirmed in 1936, when a Vatican manuscript was found that identified him through his Leda.
