The story

Sjaantje van Ingen posed nude for Isaac Israëls. In 2009 a Rijksmuseum online vote named his picture of her lying on a bed with a book the most beautiful nude in Dutch painting, ahead of Rembrandt's Bathsheba, which came fifteenth.
