The story
Dalou made this kiss between a nymph and a faun around 1890 at the request of the jeweler Henri Vever, who bought the single early bronze. After Dalou died, his heirs licensed it in bronze, marble, stoneware and Sèvres biscuit, and the Petit Palais bought its version from Georgette Dalou in 1905.
