The story

A woman seen from behind arranges her hair at the mirror, painted with the clear light and line of Caspar David Friedrich but none of his spiritual symbolism. Her fashionable outdoor clothes lie on the table, a sign of the Biedermeier pleasure in everyday bourgeois life.
